Yesterday, Thursday the 26th of May, 78 Kingscliff locals gathered together, shared a cup of tea, and gave back to a great cause.
The Cancer Council recognises that everyone knows someone affected by cancer. Today, there are more than 1.1 million Australians who are either living with cancer or have survived a diagnosis.
Kingscliff local favourite and Cancer Council representative Nerida Dean was the organiser of this fantastic event, now in its 24th year and one of the most successful events of its kind in Australia.
Attendees were treated to a high tea full of sandwiches, scones, cakes and treats, tea and coffee as well as a glass of bubbles on arrival. Maddi & Lil, Kingscliff local business owners put on one fantastic fashion parade and pop-up store to raise funds and awareness for Wigs for Wendy, an organisation who provide complimentary wigs and chemo caps to the community.
This year it was our very own Kingscliff ladies who put on a fashion parade of their own arriving in their most glamorous high tea attire, dressed to impress and ready to raise funds for a very worthy cause.
We are proud to say that alongside Nerida and our Kingscliff locals, we were able to raise $1780. These funds will go directly to fund the Cancer Council's vital research, prevention and support service programs.
Thank you to all those attended and made this event possible, we can't wait to host next year's event!
